As we step into the New Year, it’s a time filled with hopes, dreams and plans for the future, along with, for some, a sense of uncertainty. This is especially true for those awaiting test results and treatment as they navigate a difficult and often overwhelming cancer journey. At Stamford Cancer Support Group, we understand the challenges that come with facing cancer and its impact and we are here to offer support every step of the way, ensuring that no one has to face these trials alone.

We are excited for what lies ahead in 2025. This year, we are thrilled to host a series of interesting speakers. Additionally, we will continue to provide opportunities for our members to connect, share their experiences and discuss their hopes and aspirations for the future at our monthly meetings and on our walks in Burghley Park.

We understand how important it is to feel supported and heard and we remain committed to creating a welcoming and safe environment for all.

This year also marks an exciting expansion for us. In February, we will be launching an evening support group in Ryhall, offering a new space for those in the area to access the support they need. We are equally excited to welcome members of the Rutland and Melton Cancer Support Group as we amalgamate the two support groups.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the committee for their unwavering dedication and hard work throughout the year. Your passion and commitment have made a real difference in the lives of many, and we couldn’t have achieved all that we have without your support. A big thank you also goes out to everyone who has joined our meetings and events – your presence, support, and willingness to share your journey has been invaluable to our community. Together, we’ve made a meaningful impact and provided vital support to so many individuals and families affected by cancer.

As we continue to grow, we encourage you to share the news of our group with your friends and neighbours, so that we can offer our support to even more people who are navigating their own cancer journey. Together we can make sure that no one has to face cancer alone.
